Bachelor’s Grove Trip 14

by Barek Halfhand

Trip 13 or 14... I have lost count to be honest, but the allure of the legend and the cynosure of the site itself has not diminished over time or frequency of visits ...
The last time around I wandered father out beyond the perimeter of the cemetery across the creek and adjacent to the old road that is in tact in some spots and is virtually undistinguishable from the forest floor in others...from an archeological standpoint it was interesting to see t… Continue

Resurrection (Mary) Cemetery 7 Famous Haunted Chicago...

Resurrection (Mary) Cemetery 7

By Barek Halfhand

The gloomy and overcast October 1st morning provided an idyllic backdrop for my return to the older section of Resurrection Cemetery ...The stately trees that liberally adorn the grounds there were now tempered with tints of orange, amber and magenta leaving little doubt that the encroaching fall weather would inevitably transform them into a myriad of autumn20colors before rendering them as gaunt, skeletal and barren stalks for th… Continue

ARCHER WOODS CEMETERY by Barek Halfhand

By Barek Halfhand

Archer Woods and Lithuanian National Cemetery are next to each other and based on the serendipity of my last visit to Lithuanian; I decided that it should be incorporated into Archer Woods as an inimitable combined site ...The beautiful Indian Summer weather served as a stark contrast to the last mid march, 4 am visit to Archer Woods ..I remember walking along the fence after parking at a nearby tavern and finding myself experiencing mixed emotions when confront… Continue

DARE YOU INDULGE INTO OUR WORLD

Welcome to the new and innovative world of Paranormal Knights. This is a new group founded by Tony and Tim with new concepts and ideas in searching for Paranormal activity. We have an open minded approach to what is and what may be; the entire process is mediated by a healthy dose of scepticism . We are a small but dedicated group of people with a large amount of knowledge, between us in ghost hunting; we have now decided to form this new team in the hope of strengthening our search for spirits and the world that awaites us all . We believe that communication between us and the other side can be achieved in a way to make you understand how spirits and energy work.
Are you experiencing strange happenings in a place of work or at home then maybe we can help. We at Paranormal Knights are committed to providing the most comprehensive and least intrusive investigation possible. We will always maintain your complete privacy and never indulge your information to media sources, nor will we post any of your information on our website.
If you feel the need to contact us please feel free to do so.
If you would like to book a place on one of our paranormal tours or investigations, or you just need futher information then please contact us and we will only be too glad to assist you.

Participant-observer approach

While parapsychologists look for quantative evidence of the paranormal in laboratories, a great number of people immerse themselves in qualitative research through participant-observer approaches to the paranormal. Participant-observer methodologies have overlaps with other essentially qualitative approaches as well, including phenomenological research that seeks largely to describe subjects as they are experienced, rather than to explain them.
Participant-observation suggests that by immersing oneself in the subject being studied, a researcher is presumed to gain understanding of the subject. In paranormal research, a participant-observer study might consist of a researcher visiting a place where alleged paranormal activity is said to occur and recording observations while there. Participation levels may vary. In studying a supposedly haunted location, for example, the researcher may conduct a séance or participate in other activities said to cause paranormal activity.
Criticisms of participant-observation as a data-gathering technique are similar to criticisms of other approaches to the paranormal, but also include an increased threat to the objectivity of the researcher, unsystematic gathering of data, reliance on subjective measurement, and possible observer effects (observation may distort the observed behavior).Specific data gathering methods, such as recording EMF readings at haunted locations have their own criticisms beyond those attributed to the participant-observation approach itself.
The participant-observer approach to the paranormal has gained increased visibility and popularity through reality-based television shows like Ghost Hunters, and the formation of independent ghost hunting groups which advocate immersive research at alleged paranormal locations. One popular website for ghost hunting enthusiasts lists over 300 of these organizations throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.

Types of Hauntings

The most prevalent type of haunting, by far, is referred to as a residual haunting. In this type of haunting the ghostly energy goes through a cycle of actions over and over again. It's like a video clip that repeats itself in a loop. Oftentimes this plays out at a specific time as though it were following a schedule. Most commonly the scene played out will be that of a tragic event, such as a death. This type of haunting is more like a psychic impression of energy than an actual haunting by a presence or entity. Many true stories seem to describe this type of occurrence.
The second classification of haunting is known as the Classic or Intelligent Haunting. In an Intelligent Haunting the spirit, or ghost, demonstrates an intelligence and an awareness of its surroundings. These ghosts have been known to communicate with humans and to interact with their environment. In this type of haunting it is common for objects to be moved. There have been reports of ghosts making noises, such as rapping or banging on walls, slamming doors, or making footsteps. Ghosts have been known to move things around, or even to hide objects. They may even turn light switches on and off. This type of ghost will often manifest the personality of someone who has died. Smells and odors that were commonly present with the person when they were still living, such as tobacco, perfume, or flowers, often occur in these hauntings.
